January 5, 2007, Newsletter Issue #127: Using watercolor pencils

Tip of the Week

To color a stamped image with watercolor pencils, use a paintbrush and some water, or a blending pen. Touch the dampened paintbrush or blending pen across the sharpened end of the pencil. The brush will pick up color from the pencil which you can then brush onto your image.
Conversely, add color to the image with the pencil, and then use the blending pen or paintbrush to pull the color across the area desired. When using this technique, add your color to the outer edges of the desired area, and then pull the color in towards the center.
