Who you, a Stamp Guru?
After you read these Stamp tips, you'll be one. But we're looking to recruit a Stamp Guru to blog, write a 101 tip Stamp book, and become a leader of this community. Is that you? Apply now.
Have a look through your stamping magazines and see what sort of projects they tend to publish (for example: RubberstampMadness tends to have a lot of projects which feature masking techniques). If you think you have the right style of work for the magazine then you can look for submission instructions.

How do I find them?
Try visiting a search engine like dogpile.com which does its search through many search engines. Just type in stamping ezines or rubberstamping magazines and see what comes up.

PC Create It Magazine
This magazine is relatively new to the magazine shelves, but looks like it could be a great one to have a look at. It provides instructions and ideas for craft projects that can be created using your computer. You will find a link to their website in the links section of this page.

What to send to a magazine?
Firstly, check their submission instructions in the magazine. If you can´t find enough details then contact the publishers before sending anything. Be aware that most magazines will take the rights to your project, but most will give you the right to teach the project yourself. Check the details of any contract before you sign it.
The magazines, that I submit to, require the original artworks along with instructions on paper and saved to disk. They also require some pieces of the project "halfmade" for them to use when photographing instructions.

What magazine should I subscribe to?
Have a look at what´s available. My advice is to choose the magazine whose style appeals to you the most - maybe you´re into "tag art"; maybe you´re into "cute images". Shop around!

Will I get paid for my work?
You´ll have to check the submission instructions, or contact the company, in order to find out. Some publishers pay with money and some pay with "product". If your project is published in the contributors section then usually there will be no payment.
Be aware that even if the payment is money, the rates for projects are generally not large.

Artitude Zine
A relatively new magazine available is called Artitude Zine. The first issue will be June 2001. The main focus of the magazine seems to be collage and altered "items" eg: books, cards. You can visit their official website at:-

Where to find submission instructions
Usually if you check the front of the magazine you will find the section where the publishers and editors are listed. This is usually where you will find submission instructions or contact names and details. If you´re unsure of what they require then you´ll usually find an email contact or fax contact number that you can use to ask for information.

How Long Should You Subscribe For?
If you check carefully you will find that most magazines offer a better price for a 2 year subscription than a 1 year subscription. Honestly, I have found that that first year just disappears so quickly and it seems like your subscription is always due - I would recommend that you go for the 2 year option!
