Tip of the Week

Art dolls are here to stay, thanks to Somerset Studios and the Stamper`s Sampler, each of whom has featured these fascinating projects in recent issues. Here is a project that can be as simple as a trip to your local craft shop for a stuffed muslin figure, or as complicated as designing and stitching your own image or figure. What all figures offer - and stampers LOVE - is a surface just begging for a broad range of paints, inks, stamps and embellishments. And - your figure doesn`t even have to be recognizable or anatomically correct but can be a creation of your own imagination. The sky is the limit! My daughter and I have begun an art doll project using plain muslin rabbits available at our craft store as a seasonal item with their other Easter supplies. When we are finished, I will document our procedure and results here - so check back to see how we approached this idea.
